Pakistan record second successive win in Asian Games hockey

Sufyan's double enables Green-shirts crush Uzbekistan 5-1

Pakistan secured their second win of the Asian Games men’s hockey tournament with a 5-1 victory over Uzbekistan on Tuesday.

Muhammad Imad opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a field goal before Uzbekistan’s Salimjonov Shokhrukhbek equalised from a penalty corner in the 30th.

Sufyan Khan restored Pakistan’s lead three minutes later, converting a penalty corner, before Abdul Rehman extended the advantage in the 40th minute.

Abubakar Mahmood scored from a penalty stroke in the 45th minute to make it 4-1, and Sufyan completed the scoring with his second goal from a penalty corner three minutes from the end.

Pakistan Hockey Federation president Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated the players and officials, saying he hoped the team would maintain its winning momentum in the tournament.
