Xbox and IKEA tease gaming furniture collection ahead of Gamescom

Xbox and IKEA have teased gaming furniture collection, with full range set to be revealed at Gamescom on August 26

Xbox and IKEA are collaborating on a new collection of gaming furniture and home accessories, with the full range scheduled to be revealed at Gamescom on August 26.

The partnership was teased on August 18, with a short preview offering an early look at several Xbox-inspired items.

The teaser shows a cushion shaped like an Xbox controller's D-pad and a larger product resembling an analogue stick.

The purpose of the second item has not been confirmed. Its size and design have led to speculation that it could be a table or stool.

Other products can also be seen briefly in an Xbox-themed room, although their names and details remain undisclosed.

Designers from IKEA and Xbox reportedly worked together on the collection, combining IKEA's experience in home furnishings with Microsoft's gaming expertise.

The companies have not yet announced prices, release dates or the total number of products in the range. Those details are expected to be provided when the collection receives its full reveal at Gamescom.

The Xbox collection appears to draw more directly from recognisable gaming hardware, with the preview showing furniture and homeware based on elements associated with Xbox controllers.
