Perez Hilton treated for overdose after his Aug 4 livestream, police report lacerations and significant blood loss

Perez Hilton was treated for an overdose and multiple lacerations after a livestream from his Miami home on Aug. 4, according to a Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office incident report obtained by PEOPLE.

The 48-year-old internet personality, whose legal name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., was hospitalised after authorities responded to reports of a suicide attempt.

Hilton had appeared on TikTok covered in blood and seemingly harming himself during the livestream.

According to the police report, Hilton's sister, Barbara Lavandeira, discovered him in the bathroom and told authorities he was unclothed and "covered in blood".

She left the property with Hilton's three children before he reportedly exited the home and began "banging on the vehicle's driver window".

Deputies later established a perimeter around the property after Hilton returned inside and locked the front door. Officers and family members eventually entered the home and brought him into the living room.

A fire rescue team "began treatment on scene for multiple lacerations and an overdose" before Hilton was transported to a local hospital, according to the report.

His family previously said he experienced "significant blood loss" and "additional injuries" that required surgery.

The police report also states that Hilton had been "suicidal" during the week before the livestream and that his family had arranged treatment for him.

His sister subsequently told Page Six that Hilton had voluntarily sought psychiatric treatment after feeling "empty, hopeless and like he was a burden".

She said he had also been struggling with depression, anxiety, stress and overwhelming thoughts following a hospitalisation for sepsis in March.

Hilton's three children, Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8, were at home shortly before the livestream.

His mother, Teresita Lavandeira, filed for temporary custody on Aug. 7. Her attorney said the family's aim was to "protect the children and make sure they are safe."
