Anti-drone guns foil Karak terror attacks

.

DI KHAN:

Police in Karak district foiled multiple attempts by terrorists to target police personnel with quadcopters during Independence Day celebrations, using anti-drone technology to prevent the unmanned aircraft from reaching their intended targets.

According to police, terrorists attempted to drop explosives and target police personnel at four different locations in Karak. However, the timely use of modern anti-drone guns and drone locators provided to the force enabled police personnel to detect and intercept several quadcopters, thwarting the planned attacks.

Three police personnel sustained minor injuries when an explosive dropped from a quadcopter detonated within the limits of Gurguri Police Station while they were performing routine duties. Following the incident, Karak District Police Officer Imran Khan immediately reached the police station and visited the injured personnel. They were shifted to Banda Hospital for medical treatment and discharged after receiving first aid.
