The trailer for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has reportedly leaked online ahead of the highly anticipated animated film’s theatrical release, prompting co-writer and producer Chris Miller to respond.

According to Variety, footage from the third Spider-Verse movie appeared on X this week. Miller addressed the leak on Friday, expressing his frustration over unfinished material being shared publicly.

The leaked footage is reportedly not a completed version of the trailer, with Miller describing it as unfinished and not fully rendered. His comments have renewed discussion about unauthorized movie leaks and the impact they can have on filmmakers and animation teams.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 18, 2027. The film will continue the story of Miles Morales following Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and is expected to conclude his animated Spider-Man journey.

The movie has faced multiple delays since the previous instalment, increasing anticipation among fans waiting to see how Miles’ story will conclude. The first footage from Beyond the Spider-Verse was shown exclusively at CinemaCon earlier this year.

The leak comes amid a series of high-profile entertainment leaks. The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day also had footage appear online this year, while the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home leaked before its official release in 2021.

Earlier this year, the full version of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender reportedly leaked months before its Paramount+ debut. An arrest was later made in Singapore in connection with the unauthorized access and distribution of the footage.
