Preparations for Independence Day are in full swing across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), with buildings, roads, markets and public places being decorated with national flags, banners and colourful lights.
As part of the celebrations, Pakistani flags, along with the national flags of Turkey and Saudi Arabia, have been jointly hoisted at various iconic locations across AJK, reflecting the region's close ties and solidarity with the two brotherly countries.
Special lighting arrangements have also been made at prominent buildings, banks, court buildings and other public places, while patriotic banners and flags have added a festive atmosphere across the region ahead of August 14.
Portraits of martyrs of the Pakistan Army have also been installed along the Rawalpindi-Srinagar Road in Muzaffarabad as part of the Independence Day decorations, paying tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The Independence Day celebrations are expected to feature flag-hoisting ceremonies, special programmes and events highlighting Pakistan's independence and the strong bonds between Pakistan and its close allies.
