BTS Members J-Hope and RM face backlash over Chris Brown concert appearance

BTS members J-Hope and RM have faced criticism from fans after attending a Chris Brown concert, with the backlash coming amid controversy surrounding the group’s Gemini AI collaboration and V’s recent health update.

According to the source provided, J-Hope, whose real name is Jung Ho-seok, shared videos on Instagram on Thursday, August 13, showing himself and RM attending Chris Brown’s concert.

The appearance prompted criticism from some BTS fans, who pointed to allegations involving the American singer.

Brown has faced multiple allegations and charges throughout his career, most notably pleading guilty in 2009 to felony assault against Rihanna, and more recently pleading guilty to affray in July 2026 for a 2023 nightclub attack in London.

The reaction also comes after BTS faced criticism over their collaboration with Google Gemini. Some fans used the hashtag “ARMYsAgainstAI” to express their concerns about the partnership.

One fan wrote on X, “AI ads and chris brown support… are they trying to remind us that they’re men and we should be disappointed in them or what,”

The concert controversy emerged shortly after BTS member V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, discussed his hearing difficulties during a livestream.

His health update came as BTS continue their Arirang World Tour, which began in South Korea in April.
