ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan’s senior hockey team will play a four-match series in South Korea, while Pakistan Whites are set to participate in a bilateral series in Russia, the Pakistan Hockey Federation said.

The senior team will face South Korea in four international matches during its tour, providing another opportunity for the side to gain competitive experience ahead of major international events.

Meanwhile, the Russian Hockey Federation has invited Pakistan Whites for a series from August 26 to September 2, with three to four matches scheduled.

In the absence of the senior team, the Whites will be formed from players left in the senior training camp and emerging players from the junior camp.

The PHF said the international matches would provide much-needed exposure and help players prepare for future competitions.

The federation has also outlined international engagements for the Under-18, Under-21, women’s and Under-18 girls’ teams, alongside major events including the World Cup and Asian Games.

The PHF said it aimed to ensure regular international opportunities for players across its men’s and women’s senior and junior programmes.
