Craig Melvin announces wife Lindsay Czarniak’s new CBS Sports HQ role: How much could she earn?

Lindsay Czarniak has joined CBS Sports as a host of CBS Sports HQ, marking her return to a major US sports network after working with ESPN and FOX Sports.

Czarniak's husband, TODAY show host Craig Melvin, announced the move on social media. He described the news as a family announcement and said Czarniak would make her CBS Sports debut on Sunday at 7:30pm EDT.

Czarniak, 48, previously spent six years as a studio anchor for ESPN's SportsCenter, covering major NFL, NBA, MLB and college sports stories. She left ESPN in 2017 and subsequently worked with NASCAR and FOX Sports, including appearances as an NFL sideline reporter.

Her exact salary at ESPN was never publicly disclosed. However, estimates suggest she earned between $700,000 and $1 million annually from network work during her time there.

Czarniak's CBS Sports contract has also not been publicly disclosed. Based on estimates cited by the publication, the veteran broadcaster could earn approximately $1.5 million a year in her new role.

Online profiles have also estimated Czarniak's net worth at around $9 million, although such figures are not confirmed financial disclosures.

At CBS Sports HQ, Czarniak will work alongside a rotating group of hosts, including Tommy Tran, Chris Hassel, Amanda Guerra, Jaclyn DeAugustino, Joe Musso, Zach Aldridge, Hakem Dermish and Katie Mox.

Her appointment gives CBS Sports an experienced broadcaster with a long history covering major American sporting events and network television.
