Morgan Wallen blocks Ella Langley from making streaming chart history

Ella Langley's record-breaking run on Billboard's Streaming Songs chart has come to an end, with Morgan Wallen's new single Been By Now taking the No. 1 spot and preventing her from claiming a new record.

Choosin' Texas had spent 16 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, tying it with Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber's Despacito for the fourth-longest reign in the chart's history. Had Langley's hit remained at the top for another week, she would have broken the tie and claimed the fourth-longest run outright.

Instead, Wallen's Been By Now debuted at No. 1, becoming his sixth Streaming Songs chart-topper. The song also opened at No. 1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales and Country Streaming Songs charts.

Despite losing the streaming crown, Langley remains ahead of Wallen on the Billboard Hot 100. Choosin' Texas holds at No. 1 for a historic 16th week, while Been By Now debuts at No. 2. The result means Langley is now the one keeping Wallen from the top spot on the all-genre chart.

The chart battle adds another twist to the pair's successful musical partnership. Langley and Wallen have collaborated once, on I Can't Love You Anymore, which has also become a major country radio hit. That song recently climbed to No. 2 on the Country Airplay chart, where it was blocked from the top by Wallen's own Don't We.

For now, Choosin' Texas remains tied with Despacito at four-longest on the Streaming Songs chart, while Langley's continued dominance of the Hot 100 gives her another major milestone to celebrate.
