Five Nights at Freddy's pizzeria coming to New Jersey

A permanent immersive restaurant based on the Five Nights at Freddy's video game franchise is coming to the American Dream entertainment and retail complex in Bergen County, New Jersey, with the attraction expected to open next year.

The upcoming Freddy Fazbear's Pizza experience will transform the fictional restaurant from the game series into a physical destination where fans can dine, play arcade games and watch animatronic performances.

A spokesperson described the attraction as "the world's first permanent immersive restaurant experience tied to the franchise".

ScottGames, which is associated with the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, will help adapt the concept into the location-based experience.

Visitors will be able to enter Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, eat at the fast-casual restaurant and take part in entertainment inspired by the games.

The attraction will feature two animatronic stage shows, including Freddy and the Fazbear Band on the Main Stage and Foxy the Pirate in Pirate Cove.

Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in horror-inspired multiplayer experiences located behind the curtain.

"For years, fans of 'Five Nights at Freddy's' have imagined what it would feel like to step inside Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and we’re thrilled to have been selected to finally bring that world to life, only at American Dream," American Dream chief executive Don Ghemezian said.

Atreyu Alcantar, American Dream's creative manager, licensing and location-based entertainment, and creative lead for the attraction, said authenticity would be central to the project.

"The only way this experience succeeds is if it's created by a team that knows Five Nights at Freddy's inside and out," Alcantar said. "The animatronic show has to be authentic. The food has to be high quality."

She added, "We're not building a set that looks like Freddy Fazbear's Pizza — we're building Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. This experience will immerse longtime fans in the world they've imagined for years."

The attraction is scheduled to open in 2027, although an exact opening date has not been announced.
