Dylan Sprouse reveals the real story behind his romance with Barbara Palvin

Dylan Sprouse has revealed the real story behind his first meeting with wife Barbara Palvin, putting a playful twist on the version of their romance that has circulated for years.

The actor opened up about their relationship during an appearance on Amanda Hirsch's Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast, explaining that he and Palvin first met in person at the Harper's Bazaar Icons party in 2017.

According to Sprouse, their first interaction happened before he ever sent the model a direct message. He recalled Palvin making an unexpected entrance into his space at the red carpet, where she allegedly cut in front of him.

"We met in person at the Harper's Bazaar Icons party, and she cut me in line for the red carpet," Sprouse said, describing the moment as something straight out of a romantic comedy.

The former Disney Channel star said he responded by telling Palvin he did not care how attractive she was because she was cutting the line. The exchange then took an even more memorable turn when Palvin noticed what Sprouse was wearing.

At the time, Sprouse was wearing a red and white striped shirt. Palvin jokingly asked him whether he was a hot dog vendor.

Sprouse recalled that the brief exchange immediately caught his attention and helped spark his interest in the model. He later suggested that they meet up and continue talking, while also asking her to connect with him through direct messages.

The actor said Palvin's response left him feeling confident that the interaction had gone well. She reportedly reminded him that she was still waiting by the door and asked whether he was coming.

The playful encounter eventually developed into a relationship that has lasted for nearly a decade. Sprouse and Palvin went public with their romance in 2018 after first being linked the previous year.

The couple took their relationship to the next stage when they married on July 15, 2023, in Hungary, Palvin's home country. Their wedding followed years of dating and frequent appearances together at major fashion and entertainment events.

The couple are now preparing for another major chapter. Sprouse and Palvin announced in 2026 that they are expecting their first child together, a baby girl.

They shared the pregnancy news during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where Palvin appeared in a light blue gown that highlighted her baby bump.

Sprouse has also spoken publicly about supporting Palvin during her career and personal milestones. In 2025, he attended the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show as his wife walked the runway.

The actor previously showed his support for Palvin by handing out yellow pins at the event to raise awareness of endometriosis. He described cheering her on at the fashion show as a particularly meaningful moment.

Their relationship has since become a marriage and soon-to-be family.
