Hilary Duff brings daughters on stage for New York pizza party after ER scare

Hilary Duff turned her second sold-out Madison Square Garden concert into a family affair by bringing her three daughters on stage to share slices of New York pizza, just one day after her youngest daughter, Mae, was taken to the emergency room for stitches.

During the "wine o'clock" segment of her Lucky Me Tour show, Duff embraced the city's traditions by wearing a New York Knicks T-shirt before inviting daughters Banks, 7, Mae, 5, and Townes, 2, on stage with a box of Joe's Pizza. The crowd playfully booed the choice of pizzeria, prompting Duff to jokingly defend her daughters. "No one is allowed to boo with these angels on stage," she told the audience.

The family sampled the pizza together, with Mae offering the night's funniest review: "It's good, but it's cold." Duff laughed and replied, "I like cold pizza," as the audience cheered the wholesome moment.

The appearance came after an emotional opening night at Madison Square Garden, where Duff revealed she had spent the morning in the emergency room with Mae, who needed stitches. Reassuring fans that her daughter was "fine", the singer called the incident "very our family-coded" and praised Mae for being "very brave".

Duff's two-night Madison Square Garden run has been packed with memorable moments. Alongside introducing her daughters to the New York crowd, she reunited on stage with Good Charlotte's Joel and Benji Madden and performed the band's hit The Anthem. The concerts marked a major milestone on her first tour in 18 years, with the North American leg of the Lucky Me Tour continuing through mid-August before heading overseas.
