Perez Hilton revealed private apologies to Britney Spears and Khloé Kardashian before hospitalisation
Podcast recorded weeks earlier revealed blogger reflecting on past actions and personal efforts to seek forgiveness

Perez Hilton's previously recorded podcast interview has taken on new significance following his hospitalisation, revealing that the celebrity blogger had privately reached out to several high profile figures in an effort to apologise for the way he treated them during the height of his controversial career.
The interview, released on August 6 but recorded on July 14 for Sean Hannity's Hang Out With Sean Hannity podcast, featured Hilton discussing his personal growth, faith and attempts to repair relationships with celebrities he believes he hurt over the years. The episode was published only days after Hilton was hospitalised following a mental health crisis that prompted an emergency response at his Miami home.
During the conversation, Hilton said he had already tried to make amends with numerous people from the entertainment industry. Among those he specifically named were Britney Spears and Khloé Kardashian.
"I've made amends, or tried to, with a lot of people," Hilton said during the interview. He explained that he had reached out to Spears through an intermediary and was told that his message had been received positively. He also revealed that Kardashian personally responded to his apology, describing her reply as kind. Hilton acknowledged that not everyone had responded to his outreach and said he respected those decisions.
Hilton built one of the internet's most influential celebrity gossip websites during the 2000s. His posts frequently featured edited paparazzi photographs with handwritten comments and drawings that mocked celebrities' appearances, relationships and personal lives. His content attracted millions of readers but also drew criticism for encouraging online harassment and targeting public figures with personal attacks.
Reflecting on that period, Hilton admitted he eventually realised his approach had been harmful. He said he understood he could still entertain audiences without relying on cruelty or personal insults. Describing those years as a lasting burden, he referred to his past behaviour as something he continues to carry with him.
The media personality also spoke about changes in his personal life over the past year, revealing that he had embraced Christianity and was actively practising his faith. He said he regularly attends church with his children, reads the Bible and has been learning how to pray. Hilton explained that while he does not consider himself perfect, he believes genuine personal growth requires consistent effort rather than words alone.
The podcast resurfaced shortly after Hilton alarmed followers during a livestream on August 4, when authorities responded to reports that he appeared to be engaging in acts of self harm. Miami Dade authorities later confirmed that he was safely transported to hospital for medical treatment.
His family subsequently released a public statement thanking supporters for their concern and expressing hope as they awaited further updates on his condition. Hilton's representatives have also asked the public to respect his privacy while he focuses on recovery.
