Streamer and YouTuber Asmongold, whose real name is Zachariah Hoyt, has reportedly had his Twitch account banned following controversial remarks about immigrant children during a recent livestream.

On August 6, Asmongold’s secondary Twitch channel displayed a message stating, “Cannot stream at this time due to a violation of Twitch's community guidelines,” indicating that the account had been suspended.

Twitch has not confirmed the reason for the action.

However, the timing has led viewers to connect the ban with comments Asmongold made during an August 3 livestream while discussing a video by Nick Shirley about Moroccan migrants in Spain.

During the stream, Asmongold said, “I’d shoot whoever,” referring to “kids, women, men, anybody”. He also said, “I mean, if it’s kids, women, men, anybody, just shoot them.”

The streamer argued that sparing people because they have children amounted to “emotional blackmail”. He also told immigrants not to bring their children if they did not want them to be shot.

Asmongold further described immigrants as “savages” and “animals” while discussing claims that women and children were being used as shields.

He said, “And then they’ll put more women and children at risk because they know that they can use them as collateral so they get more of themselves over. That’s the way it works. That’s the way an animal thinks, and these people are animals. It’s just the way it is. They’re savages.”

Following the reported suspension, fans discussed the incident on online forums including Reddit.

One user claimed to have reported the streamer, writing, “Lol, I reported him when he was going on a rant to actively shoot 8 year old kids. Seems like plenty others did too and it worked. Deserved.”

Neither Twitch nor Asmongold had publicly confirmed the reason for the ban at the time of publication.
