BLACKPINK members confirm 10th anniversary event attendance after alleged fan smashes YG building doors

A woman in her 20s was arrested after allegedly smashing the building’s doors with a golf club

All four BLACKPINK members will attend the group’s 10th anniversary meet-and-greet on Saturday, August 8, YG Entertainment has confirmed.

The South Korean label said in a statement to local media that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa will all be present at the event.

“After checking with the label, we have confirmed that all four members will be attending,” a YG Entertainment representative said.

The confirmation came hours after Rosé became the first member to publicly confirm her attendance. Her agency, The Black Label, said arrangements had been made in advance to ensure she could participate.

“We have ensured well in advance that all necessary arrangements were coordinated and secured so that [Rose] can share this meaningful moment with her fans,” the agency said.

“Being present for this occasion has long been set as her top priority and prepared for accordingly,” it added.

The Black Label also urged fans to “refrain from excessive speculation and criticism based on inaccurate information online”.

The anniversary event had previously drawn criticism from BLACKPINK fans after it was announced that the gathering would be limited to 40 participants and could feature “select Blackpink members, depending on their schedules”.

The latest confirmation also follows an incident at YG Entertainment’s building.

According to South Korean media reports, a woman in her 20s was arrested after allegedly smashing the building’s doors with a golf club.

Videos shared online appeared to show the woman entering the building before being pursued by security guards. Police later apprehended her and are investigating the circumstances and motive.
