Utility hurdles to be cleared for Yellow Line BRT

The Sindh government has directed all relevant agencies to remove utility-related hurdles in advance to ensure the timely completion of the Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, warning against any delays caused by pending shifting and relocation work.

The instructions were issued at a high-level meeting of the Transport Department chaired by Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon. Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, Project Director Kamal Dayo and other officials attended the session.

Reviewing construction progress, the meeting decided to accelerate work on all segments of the project. Officials briefed the minister that construction activities were proceeding as per plan, with depots expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year.

Taking note of public inconvenience, Memon ordered the early completion of the second portion of the Taj Haider Bridge, stressing that the project's pace must be maintained at all costs. He directed authorities to immediately resolve all bottlenecks hindering construction.

"All matters related to utility shifting and relocation must be addressed on a priority basis to avoid delays," he said, urging departments to improve coordination and ensure timely decision-making.

The senior minister termed the Yellow Line BRT a key public welfare project for Karachi, reiterating that its completion within the stipulated timeframe remains a top priority for the Sindh government.
