Michelle Pfeiffer says she's done leading films after finding joy in television

Michelle Pfeiffer has revealed that she no longer wants to headline films, saying she has found greater fulfilment working in ensemble television projects after decades as one of Hollywood's biggest movie stars.

Speaking at The Hollywood Reporter and Apple TV's "Leading the Narrative: The Women of Apple TV" event, the three-time Oscar nominee admitted she has no desire to take on another leading film role. "I never want to star in another movie, I swear to God," Pfeiffer said, explaining that she has fallen in love with the collaborative nature of television.

Pfeiffer said working on ensemble series such as Margo's Got Money Troubles and The Madison has reminded her how much she enjoys sharing the spotlight with other actors. She also praised the quality of roles now being written for women on television, describing them as richer and more complex than many film characters.

The actress recently earned her first Primetime Emmy nomination for her supporting role in Margo's Got Money Troubles, in which she stars alongside Elle Fanning, while she also leads Taylor Sheridan's hit drama The Madison, which has already been renewed for a third season.

Despite stepping away from film lead roles, Pfeiffer made it clear she is not retiring from acting. Instead, she intends to focus on television projects where she feels she can tell more meaningful stories as part of a larger ensemble, marking a new chapter in a career that has included acclaimed performances in Scarface, Dangerous Liaisons, The Fabulous Baker Boys and Batman Returns.
