Lindsay Lohan has delighted fans by revisiting her iconic dual-role legacy from The Parent Trap in a new Reese’s Oreo commercial, nearly three decades after the beloved Disney remake introduced audiences to twins Annie James and Hallie Parker.

The advertisement, titled "Two Fated Icons," features Lohan appearing as blonde and red-haired twin sisters who run a fictional wellness retreat for twins. While the commercial does not officially identify the characters as Annie and Hallie or reference Disney directly, several visual callbacks and dialogue strongly evoke the actress’ breakout 1998 film.

Comedian Amy Sedaris also stars in the campaign, portraying twin sisters attending the retreat. The humorous storyline follows the pair as they argue over their favourite treats before discovering the new Reese’s Oreo Cups, which combine Oreo cookies with Reese’s peanut butter. The commercial concludes with a surprise twist featuring a third Sedaris sibling and a comedic faint from Lohan, mirroring a memorable scene from The Parent Trap.

Lohan’s performance has sparked nostalgia among fans, many of whom immediately recognised the tribute to the classic family film that established her as a Hollywood star. The 1998 remake, directed by Nancy Meyers, remains one of Disney’s most enduring family favourites.

The commercial arrives during a busy period for Lohan, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday and reflected on her career milestones. She also returned to another fan-favourite Disney role in Freakier Friday, reprising Anna Coleman alongside Jamie Lee Curtis.

By blending nostalgia with a modern product launch, the Reese’s Oreo campaign taps into the lasting popularity of The Parent Trap while introducing Lohan’s iconic twin characters to a new generation of viewers.
