Hilaria Baldwin addresses gold digger claims, explaining why she rejected gifts early with Alec Baldwin

Hilaria Baldwin has addressed long-running “gold digger” accusations surrounding her marriage to actor Alec Baldwin, saying she has never been interested in his wealth or celebrity status.

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Hilaria discussed the public perception of her relationship with Alec, whom she married in 2012. The former yoga instructor said the claims initially hurt because they did not reflect who she was or how their relationship began.

Hilaria revealed that when she and Alec first started dating, he would often try to buy her gifts, but she refused because she wanted to make sure their connection was genuine. She explained that she wanted to know she loved him for who he was rather than what he could provide financially.

The couple met in 2011 when Alec was already an established Hollywood star and Hilaria was working as a yoga instructor. At the time, she said she lived in a small New York City apartment and focused on building her own life.

Hilaria and Alec married in June 2012 and have since welcomed seven children together: Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, María and Ilaria. Alec also shares adult daughter Ireland Baldwin with his former wife, Kim Basinger.

Addressing the “gold digger” label, Hilaria argued that raising seven children requires significant commitment and responsibility, saying that having a large family does not align with the stereotype often associated with the accusation.

She also opened up about recently travelling with her children and teaching them practical life skills, including household tasks. Hilaria said she wants her children to become more independent and understand the value of doing things for themselves.
