KATSEYE comes under fire for taking subtle dig at Manon during new podcast appearance

KATSEYE has found itself at the centre of renewed online debate after comments made during a recent podcast interview led some fans to speculate about the group's relationship with member Manon, who is currently on hiatus.

The five active members of KATSEYE appeared on the comedy and pop culture podcast Therapuss, hosted by Jake Shane, where they discussed a range of topics, including the online criticism they have faced.

The group did not address Manon's hiatus during the interview.

The discussion gained attention when Shane mentioned the group's 2025 song "Mean Girls" and its hand choreography during the chorus. Megan responded: "Actually, I hate that."

The conversation continued with Megan explaining that the original choreography was different and more difficult to perform.

Sophia and Yoonchae then demonstrated the initial version of the routine, which involved spelling the word "Love" with their hands. Megan joked: "Dyslexic as f**k."

Shortly after the clip was shared online, some fans claimed the remarks were an indirect criticism of Manon, arguing that she had created part of the choreography being discussed.

The speculation quickly spread across social media, with some users suggesting the exchange reflected tension within the group.

However, other fans disputed those claims, pointing out that the choreography for "Mean Girls" was created by choreographers Sohey Sugihara and Grant Gilmore.

They argued there is no evidence that Manon was responsible for the choreography in question and described the theory linking the discussion to her as an unfounded rumour.

Many fans defended the members, saying the conversation focused solely on the difficulty of the choreography rather than any individual member.

The online discussion comes as KATSEYE prepares for its upcoming EP Wild, which has already generated mixed reactions following the unveiling of its concept photos.
