Karachi violence claims five lives
Five people were killed overnight in a cycle of violence in Karachi.
Four were killed in Sarjani Town while six were injured.
A woman was murdered in a separate incident in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The woman was an employee of a state agency. She was working inside her office when a gunman stormed in and shot her. Shahrah-e-Faisal police said they have caught a man named Sajjad, who they believe is the killer.
No arrests have been made in Sarjani town, where a clash erupted when two groups met to clear out a dispute over land.
Four people, including workers of the Pakistan People's Party and the PPP Shaheed Bhutto group, were gunned down. The six injured people were caught in a gunbattle in the Yousufgoth area of Sarjani.
Businesses in the area remain shut out of fear of further conflict.
