Robert Pattinson's daughter now calls him ‘Daddy Batman’

Robert Pattinson's transformation into Gotham's Dark Knight has made an impression at home, with partner Suki Waterhouse revealing that the couple's young daughter now affectionately calls the actor "Daddy Batman."

Waterhouse shared the family anecdote while discussing Pattinson's work on The Batman Part II, explaining that their daughter has become familiar with his famous superhero role despite her young age. According to Waterhouse, the nickname developed naturally as Pattinson continued filming the highly anticipated sequel.

She also revealed that their daughter remained remarkably unfazed by one of Pattinson's most dramatic appearances during production. While filming The Batman Part II, the actor FaceTimed his family wearing extensive makeup that included fake blood and large black circles around his eyes. Rather than becoming frightened by the striking look, their daughter accepted it without concern.

Waterhouse's comments highlight the contrast between Pattinson's intense on screen transformation and everyday family life. Although audiences know him as the brooding vigilante Bruce Wayne, his daughter simply recognises him as her father, even when he appears in elaborate film makeup.

The behind the scenes anecdote also reflects the demanding physical preparation involved in portraying Batman. Pattinson's appearance during the FaceTime call, complete with blood effects and dark makeup around his eyes, suggests the production was filming one of the darker sequences expected in the sequel. Such makeup is a familiar part of portraying the crime fighting hero, whose battles frequently leave visible physical scars throughout the story.

Pattinson first portrayed Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves' The Batman, released in 2022. The film presented a younger, more emotionally complex version of the iconic DC Comics character and earned strong reviews from critics while becoming a major global box office success. Its grounded detective approach distinguished it from previous adaptations and laid the foundation for a continuing story centred on Gotham City's corruption and criminal underworld.

The Batman Part II is set to continue that storyline, with Reeves returning as director and Pattinson once again leading the cast. While Warner Bros has kept plot details largely confidential, anticipation has remained high as production moves forward.

Waterhouse's comments have drawn attention because they offer one of the few personal stories about Pattinson balancing family life with one of Hollywood's most physically demanding blockbuster roles. Despite spending long hours portraying Batman, he still found time to stay connected with his family through video calls from set, even if those calls happened while he remained in full costume makeup.
