Former JPMorgan banker expands lawsuit with new racism and sexual coercion allegations

A former JPMorgan Chase banker has expanded his lawsuit against the bank, filing an amended complaint in Manhattan federal court on July 28, 2026 that adds new defendants, federal claims, and fresh allegations of sexual coercion and racial discrimination.

Plaintiff Chirayu Rana, who is of Nepali descent, alleges he was subjected to racist slurs including "monkey," "brown boy," and "Brownie," while colleagues also mocked his heritage and threatened to call immigration authorities on his family.

The complaint renews Rana's allegations that former executive director Lorna Hajdini coerced him into sexual acts by threatening his career and repeatedly claiming she "owned" him. It also includes new allegations that Hajdini, while allegedly intoxicated and naked, tried to persuade a witness to join them for a threesome after one alleged encounter. The witness claims he later heard Rana repeatedly telling Hajdini to "stop" and "leave" before finding him visibly shaken.

Rana also alleges Hajdini secretly gave him a "performance-enhancing substance" after he was unable to sexually perform.

The amended lawsuit adds managing directors Brandon Graffeo and Jon Wolter, as well as associate Kelly Crowe, as defendants. Rana alleges Graffeo and Wolter damaged his reputation after his resignation, while Crowe allegedly referred to him as "brown boy" and an "HR liability."

The 21-count complaint seeks unspecified damages for sexual assault, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other alleged violations of federal and New York laws.

JPMorgan has denied the allegations, saying they lack merit, while Hajdini has denied the claims and previously filed a defamation countersuit. The allegations remain unproven, and the case is ongoing.
