'Dexter: Resurrection' season 2 first-look photos tease new developments

Paramount+ has unveiled the first official images from Dexter: Resurrection season 2, offering fans a glimpse at Michael C. Hall's return as Dexter Morgan while teasing new serial killers, familiar faces and an unexpected romance.

The newly released photos show Dexter navigating life in New York as he finds himself caught between two dangerous murderers while confronting what the series describes as his greatest challenge yet: a mid-life crisis. Meanwhile, his son Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, continues his own pursuit of justice after joining the police force, echoing the career path of his late aunt Debra Morgan.

The first-look images also confirm the return of fan-favourite detective Joey Quinn, with Desmond Harrington reprising the role for the first time in the sequel series. Uma Thurman is back as Charley Brown, Dexter's former adversary, with the photos hinting that the pair could develop an unlikely romantic relationship.

Season 2 introduces several major additions to the cast, including Bokeem Woodbine as a police captain, Brian Cox as the infamous New York Ripper and Dan Stevens as Owen Stark, a serial killer known as the Five Borough Killer. Gabriel Luna and Nona Parker Johnson have also joined the upcoming season in key roles.

The official synopsis reveals that Dexter will be forced to confront two very different killers as a new wave of terror grips New York City, while Harrison's evolving sense of justice pushes father and son into what is described as their darkest chapter yet. Dexter: Resurrection season 2 is set to premiere on Paramount+ later this year.
