Dolly Parton is mourning another heartbreaking loss in her family following the death of her older brother, Coy "Denver" Parton, who has died at the age of 82.
Coy Parton passed away in Sevierville, Tennessee, on Thursday, July 23. His family remembered him as a hardworking man who spent many years as a crane operator, helping build bridges throughout the region.
Beyond his career, Coy was known for his love of farming and hunting, passions he enjoyed throughout his life.
The loss comes during an emotional period for the country music icon. Earlier this year, Dolly's husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, died in March 2025 at the age of 82. The couple had been married since 1966 after first meeting outside a Nashville laundromat shortly after Parton moved to the city to pursue her music career.
Despite the personal challenges she has faced, Parton recently made a public appearance at the grand opening of her new Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee.
Coy "Denver" Parton was one of Dolly Parton's siblings in the close-knit Parton family, which has long played an important role in the singer's life and career.
The Parton family has not publicly shared additional details regarding funeral arrangements or the cause of Coy Parton's death.
