Eric Roberts has addressed his absence from daughter Emma Roberts’ wedding to actor Cody John, saying he supports her decision to celebrate the special occasion in her own way.

The veteran actor confirmed to Page Six that he did not attend Emma Roberts’ private wedding ceremony in Idaho over the weekend. Responding to questions about his absence, Eric said he continues to love his daughter and respects how she chose to mark the milestone.

“I love my daughter, always have, always will,” Eric Roberts said in a statement. “It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants.”

Emma Roberts, 35, married Cody John after four years together during an intimate outdoor ceremony in Idaho. The couple’s wedding was attended by several Hollywood stars, including Emma’s aunt Julia Roberts and her husband Danny Moder.

According to reports, Emma’s 5-year-old son Rhodes, whom she shares with former partner Garrett Hedlund, played a special role in the ceremony by walking her down the aisle. The actress wore a custom Monique Lhuillier gown featuring silk chiffon details for the celebration.
