Syed Tariq Mustafa was picked up by the jawans of the paramilitary force on September 22.

KARACHI:

A woman has gone to court for help after her husband went missing in the wake of an arrest by the Rangers.

Sarwat Jahan’s lawyer told the Sindh High Court on Tuesday that her husband Syed Tariq Mustafa was picked up by the jawans of the paramilitary force on September 22 from their residence which falls in the jurisdiction of Brigade police station.

He has not been produced in court and the family has looked for him in vain. The police and law enforcement agencies say they don’t know where he is.

Chief Justice Musheer Alam and Justice Imam Bux Baloch heard her lawyer and then ordered for pre-admission notices to be issued to the advocate general for an unspecified date. The division bench also sought a report from the respondents in 10 days. The respondents include the home secretary, inspector general of police, CCPO, SIU, SSP East.
