K-P govt honours ARI Mingora scientists

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening agricultural research, encouraging scientists and ensuring that modern innovations directly benefit farmers, while recognising the outstanding contributions of researchers from the Agricultural Research Institute (ARI), Mingora, Swat, at a special ceremony in Peshawar.

The award ceremony, organised on the special directives of Advisor to the Chief Minister on Agriculture Mian Muhammad Umar, honoured ARI Mingora scientists with commemorative shields in recognition of their exceptional research achievements and professional excellence.

Addressing the gathering, K-P Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan said agricultural research is the cornerstone of national development and food security. He described agriculture as one of the most important sectors of the provincial economy and praised agricultural scientists for their vital role in promoting sustainable farming, increasing productivity and strengthening food security.

Advisor to the Chief Minister on Agriculture Mian Muhammad Umar said researchers played a fundamental role in the progress and prosperity of nations through knowledge, innovation and scientific advancement. He said the provincial government was implementing comprehensive measures to modernise agriculture, improve farmers' livelihoods and expand research activities across the province.

He paid tribute to the scientists of ARI Mingora for their remarkable services in agricultural research, saying the ceremony had been organised to acknowledge their valuable contributions. He assured participants that the government would continue taking every possible step to promote agricultural research, encourage scientists and address their professional issues so that the benefits of modern research.
