Denise Richards’ divorce drama escalates as Aaron Phypers files contempt request

Denise Richards’ estranged husband Aaron Phypers asks court to hold her in contempt over unpaid spousal support claims

Denise Richards’ ongoing divorce battle with estranged husband Aaron Phypers has taken another legal turn, with Phypers asking the court to hold the actress in contempt over alleged unpaid financial obligations.

According to TMZ, Phypers filed court documents claiming Richards has failed to fully pay temporary spousal support payments and money owed to his legal team. He alleges that Richards was ordered to pay him $5,000 per month in temporary support, along with $30,000 in attorney fees from a previous court order.

Phypers claims that since March, Richards has only made partial payments and still owes approximately $13,500 in spousal support and $28,000 to his attorneys, bringing the total amount he says remains unpaid to $41,500.

In his filing, Phypers reportedly argued that Richards has sufficient income to meet the court-ordered payments but has failed to do so. A hearing regarding his contempt request is scheduled for September 14.

The legal dispute comes amid the former couple’s ongoing divorce proceedings. Phypers filed for divorce from Richards in July 2025 and requested financial support as part of the case. Richards later sought a restraining order against Phypers, citing allegations of abuse. Phypers denied the accusations, while Richards was granted a permanent restraining order.

During the divorce proceedings, Phypers previously claimed that Richards earned more than $250,000 per month through projects including her OnlyFans account and reality television appearances. Richards has not yet publicly responded to the latest allegations regarding unpaid support.

The former couple’s divorce remains unresolved as both sides continue to address financial and legal matters in court.
