Kimora Lee Simmons says a court filing on son Wolfe’s custody was a clerical error amid her divorce from Tim Leissner

Kimora Lee Simmons has clarified that a court filing suggesting she wanted estranged husband Tim Leissner to receive primary custody of their son was the result of a clerical error.

The update came after reports emerged that Simmons’ response to Leissner’s divorce petition appeared to request that he be awarded primary legal and physical custody of their 11-year-old son, Wolfe. However, a representative later confirmed that Simmons has no intention of seeking that arrangement and said the filing was submitted incorrectly.

According to court documents, Simmons agreed with Leissner that their marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences. The filing also included requests related to financial matters, with Simmons seeking to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to Leissner while requesting spousal support for herself. She also asked that Leissner cover her legal fees associated with the divorce proceedings.

Leissner, a former Goldman Sachs banker, originally requested joint legal and physical custody of Wolfe when he filed for divorce.

The couple were married for 12 years, although reports indicate they have been separated since 2020 and that the legal proceedings are largely intended to formally end the marriage.

This marks Simmons’ second divorce. She was previously married to Def Jam Recordings co-founder Russell Simmons from 1998 until their divorce was finalised in 2009. The former couple share two daughters, Ming and Aoki.

Leissner was previously married to Judy Chan and has publicly acknowledged that he submitted falsified divorce documents before marrying Simmons while his earlier marriage had not yet been legally dissolved.

The divorce proceedings between Simmons and Leissner remain ongoing.
