Emmy winner Liza Colón-Zayas joins Hulu’s 'Conviction', a legal drama series from David Shore starring Elisabeth Moss

Emmy-winning actress Liza Colón-Zayas has joined the cast of Hulu’s upcoming legal drama series Conviction, created by House and The Good Doctor creator David Shore.

Colón-Zayas will appear in a recurring guest role in the series, which stars Elisabeth Moss as criminal defence attorney Neve Harper. Details about Colón-Zayas’ character remain undisclosed.

The actress joins a cast that includes Moss, Jimmi Simpson, William Jackson Harper, Kevin McKidd, Sebastian De Souza, Adam Godley, Linda Emond and Ella Anderson.

Based on Jack Jordan’s 2023 novel of the same name, Conviction follows Neve Harper, a successful lawyer who receives a career-defining opportunity when she takes on a high-profile murder case. The case involves a man accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire.

However, Neve’s pursuit of an acquittal becomes complicated when a mysterious figure begins blackmailing her. She is forced to make difficult choices that challenge her professional responsibilities, personal morals and hidden secrets.

The Hulu legal drama is executive produced by David Shore, Elisabeth Moss, Jack Jordan, Warren Littlefield, Ann Johnson, Lisa Harrison, Bert Salke, Lindsey McManus and Erin Gunn.

Colón-Zayas recently gained widespread recognition for her role as Tina Marrero in FX’s acclaimed comedy-drama series The Bear. Her performance earned her two Emmy nominations and a historic win in 2024, making her the first Latina actress to win Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Her upcoming projects include Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where she will play Detective Jean DeWolff, along with the independent drama Fleur starring Halle Berry.

With its strong creative team and high-profile cast, Conviction is expected to be one of Hulu’s notable upcoming drama series.
