Shakira is looking back on her performance at the historic FIFA World Cup 2026 final halftime show with gratitude.

Hours after taking the stage at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the Grammy-winning singer shared an emotional message on Instagram, thanking everyone who helped bring the landmark performance to life.

The Colombian superstar performed Dai Dai, the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alongside Burna Boy during the tournament's first-ever halftime show at a World Cup final. The performance marked a full-circle moment for Shakira, who famously performed Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The halftime spectacle featured a star-studded lineup that included Madonna, BTS and Justin Bieber, making history as FIFA introduced a Super Bowl-style entertainment break during football's biggest match.

Shakira's heartfelt message focused on the people who made the performance possible, singling out Burna Boy, Uganda's Ghetto Kids dance group and her team while describing the show as a moment she would remember forever.

Spain went on to defeat Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the World Cup final, with Ferran Torres scoring the winning goal to secure the country's second FIFA World Cup title.
