The episode reveals how Ormund Hightower’s strategy is steadily undermining Rhaenyra’s rule from within.

Criston Cole continues his campaign in the Riverlands, sabotaging crossings and launching surprise attacks that leave Rhaenyra’s forces struggling to reach Tumbleton. While his determination remains unshaken, his growing obsession with honour and legacy drives him towards an increasingly reckless path.

Elsewhere, Aemond Targaryen remains at Harrenhal under the care of Alys Rivers as disturbing visions and Helaena’s prophecy weigh heavily on him. Without Vhagar at his side, he admits, “Without her, I am nothing,” exposing a rare moment of vulnerability.
