Mini War reveals major cast additions ahead of Luke Wilson comedy debut
The upcoming comedy film Mini War has expanded its cast with Stranger Things stars Brett Gelman and Rob Morgan joining former Saturday Night Live performer Kevin Nealon in key roles.
The trio will appear alongside Luke Wilson, Vanessa Hudgens and Nick Swardson in the feature comedy from the creative team behind the cult classic Grandma’s Boy. The film is written by Swardson and Allen Covert, with Joel David Moore directing.
Mini War follows Joe, played by Wilson, a laid-back stoner who unexpectedly inherits a struggling mini golf course from his late uncle. Hoping to sell the property and move forward with his life, Joe searches for a buyer who will protect his uncle’s legacy.
However, his plans are disrupted by Darren, played by Swardson, the owner of a nearby go-kart track who wants to destroy the mini golf course and expand his business empire. The rivalry between the two businesses eventually turns into an all-out neighbourhood battle.
Hudgens stars as Olivia, the owner of a roadside food stand caught between the competing businesses alongside a group of unusual local characters.
Gelman will portray Ned Parker, an eccentric investor from Milwaukee interested in purchasing Joe’s mini golf course, while Morgan will play Ruben, the course manager who helped create the attraction with Joe’s late uncle. Nealon’s character details have not yet been revealed.
The cast also includes Dave Sheridan, Blake Anderson, John Farley, Nicholas Turturro and Morgan Kohan.
Produced by Jarod Einsohn, Joel David Moore, Limor Hakim and the Grandma’s Boy production team, Mini War is expected to bring together comedy veterans and a fresh ensemble for a nostalgic, character-driven story.
