Fiona Apple has unveiled a brand new song for Apple TV’s thriller Lucky, marking a notable musical return while adding another layer of intrigue to one of the platform’s most anticipated dramas of 2026.

The singer songwriter created the track, titled "Horns Of A Bull", as the official theme song for the new seven part series starring Anya Taylor-Joy. The song debuted alongside the show’s launch on July 15 and features Apple’s distinctive vocals over warm piano chords, creating an unsettling atmosphere that mirrors the tension of the drama.

Lucky is based on Marissa Stapley’s 2021 novel of the same name and follows a skilled international con artist played by Taylor-Joy. The character finds herself on the run after a multimillion dollar heist goes disastrously wrong. As she attempts to stay ahead of the authorities, she is pursued by FBI agents while also facing threats from a powerful crime boss determined to track her down.

The series was created by Jonathan Tropper, who previously earned acclaim for Your Friends & Neighbors. Alongside Taylor-Joy, the cast includes Aunjanue Ellis Taylor, Mo McRae and Annette Bening.

Apple collaborated on "Horns Of A Bull" with Amy Aileen Wood, her longtime drummer. Wood also shares a personal connection to the production through her marriage to Lucky showrunner Cassie Pappas. The partnership helped bring together the musical and dramatic elements of the project, resulting in a theme song designed specifically to complement the show's suspenseful tone.

The release has generated excitement among both television viewers and music fans, particularly because Fiona Apple has remained selective about major soundtrack contributions throughout her career. Her involvement immediately added prestige to the project and sparked discussion across entertainment circles following the series premiere.

Critical response to Lucky has been largely positive. Reviews have praised the show's blend of crime, suspense and character driven storytelling. Particular attention has been given to Taylor-Joy’s performance as the resourceful scam artist attempting to outmanoeuvre both law enforcement and dangerous criminal figures.

The series arrives during another busy period for Taylor-Joy, whose profile continues to grow across film and television. The actor was recently confirmed for a major role in The Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum, the upcoming fantasy film directed by Andy Serkis.

In that production, Taylor-Joy will portray Seren, a newly introduced elf character described as a trusted and highly skilled agent of King Thranduil. The film also features returning franchise stars Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, Lee Pace and Serkis himself.

While anticipation continues to build for her return to Middle Earth in December 2027, Taylor-Joy is currently drawing attention for Lucky, with Fiona Apple’s haunting "Horns Of A Bull" helping establish the show's distinctive identity from its very first moments.
