Paul Wesley has officially started a new chapter after marrying longtime partner Natalie Kuckenburg in an intimate civil ceremony, but while the newlyweds celebrated their special day, much of the online conversation quickly turned towards the actor's relationship history rather than the wedding itself.
The The Vampire Diaries star, 43, tied the knot with 26 year old model Natalie Kuckenburg after nearly four years together. The couple shared the news through a series of wedding photographs posted on Instagram, with Kuckenburg captioning the images, "Mr. and Mrs. and the Best Boy Greg," referring to the couple's beloved dog, who also featured in the ceremony. The wedding was a private outdoor event attended by only the officiant and Greg.
While many fans congratulated the couple, social media discussions soon focused on the fact that this marks Wesley's third marriage. He was previously married to actor Torrey DeVitto from 2011 until 2013 and later to jewellery executive Ines de Ramon, whose divorce from Wesley was finalised in 2024.
Across online discussion forums, many users joked that Wesley "definitely has a type," pointing to similarities they perceived between his current and former partners. Others made light of the actor reaching a third marriage in his early 40s, with "third time lucky" becoming one of the most repeated remarks.
The couple's age difference also became a major talking point. Some users remarked that Kuckenburg was born in 2000, several years before Wesley became a household name as Stefan Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries, prompting debate about their 17 year age gap.
Greg, the couple's dog, unexpectedly became another star of the conversation. Many fans described the "Best Boy" inclusion as one of the sweetest details from the ceremony, although others jokingly referenced the dog's connection to Wesley's previous relationship after recalling that Greg had also been part of his life during his marriage to Ines de Ramon.
Several former co stars and friends congratulated the newlyweds online, including Nina Dobrev, while supporters praised the ceremony's understated style rather than an extravagant celebrity celebration.
Despite the jokes and speculation circulating online, Wesley and Kuckenburg appeared focused on celebrating their milestone privately. Their wedding photographs reflected a simple ceremony centred on family, their pet and a fresh beginning together, as fans continue debating whether this marriage will finally prove to be the lasting one for the actor.
