Families slam K2 Airways silence after crash

Families of victims of the K2 Airways plane crash in the Arabian Sea have accused the airline of "irresponsible silence," alleging that no contact has been made with them days after the tragedy.

In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, the families of the captain, co-pilot, engineers and load master aboard Flight 1732 - which crashed near Ormara - said the airline management had neither reached out nor provided any information or support since the incident.

"The silence is not just irresponsible, it suggests that facts are being concealed," the statement read, adding that the airline appeared to be avoiding accountability for possible administrative and technical lapses. The families added that while the entire country stood in solidarity with them, the airline had remained completely unresponsive, deepening their distress.

They have appealed directly to the prime minister for immediate intervention, placing three key demands before the government. These include the continuation of search and recovery operations in the deep sea, with the acquisition of advanced equipment - including assistance from friendly countries - to retrieve the wreckage, crew and black box.

They also called for a transparent and independent investigation into all aspects of the crash, including the airline's management, operational systems and technical factors. The families also demanded legal action against those responsible, including the airline's chief executive officer, if negligence or misconduct is established.

Search operations in the deep waters of the Arabian Sea are still underway, the statement added, with families reiterating their demand for truth, transparency, accountability and justice for their loved ones.
