The Boys star Jensen Ackles has shared an exciting update about the franchise's upcoming prequel series, Vought Rising, teasing that it will finally explore the complex relationship between Soldier Boy and Stormfront.

Speaking during Creation Entertainment's The Road So Far… The Road Ahead: Creation Toronto event, Ackles revealed that the series will provide fans with much-needed context about Soldier Boy's history with Clara Vought, better known as Stormfront.

According to the actor, the prequel will delve into parts of their relationship that were never explored in The Boys, shedding light on how the two became connected long before the events of the main series.

Soldier Boy's apparent feelings for Stormfront during the final season of The Boys left viewers wondering whether his emotions were genuine or the result of manipulation. Ackles hinted that Vought Rising will answer those lingering questions by exploring their shared past in greater depth.

Set decades before the events of The Boys, Vought Rising follows the early days of Vought International and the rise of some of the company's first superheroes. Ackles reprises his role as Soldier Boy, while Aya Cash returns as Clara Vought, also known as Liberty and later Stormfront.

The series also stars Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri and Brian J. Smith.

While Prime Video has yet to announce an official release date, Vought Rising wrapped filming in March 2026 and is expected to premiere sometime in 2027.

Ackles' latest comments are likely to excite longtime fans of The Boys, as the prequel promises to reveal previously unseen chapters of Soldier Boy and Stormfront's history while expanding the dark and twisted world of Vought.
