Sacha Baron Cohen surprised fans with a rare public appearance as his iconic alter ego, Ali G, at Wimbledon, fuelling speculation that the beloved comedy character is making a major comeback with a new feature film.

The actor attended the Wimbledon Championships in London dressed as both himself and the fictional British rapper, drawing attention across social media after videos and photos of Ali G circulated online. The appearance comes amid reports that a new Ali G movie is currently being filmed in secret, although no studio or release date has been officially announced.

Baron Cohen is well known for keeping his projects under wraps to preserve the surprise element of his satirical comedy. His hidden-camera productions have famously caught high-profile public figures off guard, making secrecy a defining part of his filmmaking process.

If confirmed, the upcoming project would mark the second feature film centred on Ali G, following 2002's Ali G Indahouse. While that film did not receive a theatrical release in the United States, it performed well internationally, earning more than $23 million at the global box office, particularly in the United Kingdom.

Ali G first gained international recognition through HBO's Da Ali G Show in the early 2000s, introducing audiences to Baron Cohen's distinctive style of character-driven satire. The comedian later achieved even greater success with the Borat franchise, with Borat Subsequent Moviefilm earning two Academy Award nominations after its 2020 release.

Although details about the reported Ali G movie remain under wraps, the character's unexpected appearance at Wimbledon has reignited excitement among fans eager to see one of Baron Cohen's most recognisable creations return to the big screen.
