Celebrity stylist Law Roach has dressed some of the biggest names in entertainment, from Zendaya and Céline Dion to Ariana Grande and Tom Holland. Yet despite his star-studded client list, the renowned image architect says there is only one celebrity he wishes he had the chance to style: the late music legend Prince.

Speaking exclusively to People, Roach explained that he has never kept a wishlist of famous clients because he believes the right collaborations happen naturally.

"I really believe the universe puts people in my life and vice versa exactly at the moment they're supposed to be, so I've never had a wishlist of people I wanted to dress," he said.

There was, however, one exception.

"The only person I would've loved to dress that is no longer with us is Prince."

Roach said he has long admired Prince's fearless approach to fashion. Throughout his career, the "Purple Rain" icon became known for pushing boundaries with flamboyant tailoring, lace, sequins, feathers, tassels and signature high heels, creating one of music's most recognisable personal styles.

Looking back on his own career, Roach highlighted several styling moments that remain especially meaningful. One was Zendaya's unforgettable Mugler robot suit at the London premiere of Dune: Part Two in 2024, a futuristic look that instantly became one of the most talked-about red carpet appearances of the decade.

He also singled out his work with Céline Dion, recalling styling the singer in an ethereal Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture gown for a performance of My Heart Will Go On.

"I've never seen so many grown men cry," Roach said of the emotional audience response to the performance and Dion's dramatic look.

Another project close to his heart is one the public may never see. Roach revealed he designed Zendaya's wedding dress for her private wedding to Tom Holland, insisting it far surpasses the AI-generated images that circulated online after the couple secretly married earlier this year.

"No one will ever see it," he said, while maintaining that the real gown was "better than" the fake versions shared on social media.

Beyond celebrity styling, Roach has returned as a judge for Season 22 of Project Runway, joining Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Tyra Banks. He promised viewers plenty of drama among both the contestants and judging panel, joking that he enjoys pushing everyone's buttons.

Although he has worked with some of Hollywood's biggest stars, Roach said his philosophy remains unchanged: trust the timing of every collaboration. Even so, he admits there will always be one fashion partnership that exists only in his imagination—a chance to style Prince, whose fearless individuality continues to inspire designers and stylists around the world.
