Paramount+ has officially unveiled the first teaser trailer for Season 2 of MobLand, confirming that the hit British crime drama will return on September 18 with Tom Hardy reprising his role as fixer Harry Da Souza. The announcement comes after months of speculation over Hardy's future on the series following reports of behind-the-scenes tensions.

The 10-episode second season picks up after the explosive events of the Season 1 finale, with the Harrigan family's criminal empire on the brink of collapse. As rival gangs close in and loyalties begin to fracture, Harry finds himself under mounting pressure to prevent an all-out war.

The teaser opens with Hardy's Harry admitting, "The last 24 hours haven't exactly gone my way," before showcasing a series of violent confrontations, betrayals and power struggles. Pierce Brosnan returns as crime boss Conrad Harrigan, while Helen Mirren reprises her role as the formidable Maeve Harrigan, with both determined to keep their family's grip on North London's underworld.

Returning cast members include Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Lisa Dwan and Emily Barber. Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond have also been promoted to series regulars for the new season.

The announcement follows months of reports that Hardy had clashed with producers and showrunner Jez Butterworth during production, fuelling speculation that he would leave the series after Season 2. However, Variety recently reported that Hardy is expected to return should MobLand secure a third season, following discussions that resolved the reported disagreements.

Created by Ronan Bennett and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, MobLand became one of Paramount+'s biggest original hits after its debut, earning more than 26 million viewers during its first season and quickly securing a renewal.

While Paramount+ has yet to announce a third season, the new trailer suggests the battle for control of the Harrigan empire is only just beginning. With Harry caught between warring factions and the family's future hanging in the balance, Season 2 promises even higher stakes, shifting alliances and explosive violence when it premieres on September 18.
