Connor Murphy's final 'Elon Muscular' video sparks online mystery after reported drowning

Fitness influencer Connor Murphy's final YouTube upload has become the focus of intense online speculation following his reported death in Thailand, with fans dissecting its cryptic references to "Elon Muscular" and wondering whether the video held a deeper meaning. While no evidence suggests the video predicted what would happen, its unusual content has fuelled widespread discussion across social media.

Murphy, 32, reportedly died on July 7 after an apparent drowning in Samut Prakan province, Thailand. According to local authorities, police were called to his rental property following reports that he was behaving erratically.

Officials said Murphy fled from officers, entered a nearby lake and swam for several minutes before disappearing beneath the surface. Rescue divers later recovered his body around 20 metres from the shore. Authorities have launched an investigation, and an autopsy and toxicology examination are pending.

Just days before the incident, Murphy uploaded a YouTube video titled "RIP Elon Muscular." In the video, he claimed he was "absorbing the spirit of Elon" and thanked "Elon" for his "sacrifice," while referring to "Elon Muscular" as the character he intended to leave behind. The surreal monologue, which also featured Murphy dribbling a basketball and discussing spiritual ideas, has since gone viral as viewers revisit his final public appearance.

The video reflects a noticeable shift in Murphy's online content over the past few years. Once known for bodybuilding advice, fitness challenges and viral prank videos, the YouTuber had increasingly posted philosophical and spiritual content, often blending humour with unconventional ideas that left fans divided.

According to reports from Thailand, Murphy's girlfriend told investigators that his behaviour in the days leading up to the incident was unlike anything she had witnessed before. Local media reported that the rented property had been left in disarray, with paint splattered across furniture and walls.

Police also recovered unused syringes and several white pills from Murphy's vehicle, though investigators have not linked those items to his death, and authorities say the cause will ultimately be determined through forensic testing.

As clips from "RIP Elon Muscular" continue circulating online, many fans have begun revisiting Murphy's final posts, searching for clues or hidden meanings. However, there is currently no evidence that the video was intended as a farewell message, and authorities have not suggested any connection between its content and the circumstances surrounding his death.

Murphy amassed more than two million YouTube subscribers through fitness content before reinventing himself with increasingly eccentric videos.
