Adam Sandler contacted police after spotting what he believed was a suspicious drone flying near his family holiday home in Nantucket, just 48 hours after officiating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's high-profile wedding.

According to People, the actor called the Nantucket Police Department on July 5 after noticing the drone hovering over his property. Officers responded to the scene and later determined the aircraft belonged to a local photographer who had been flying it legally in the area. No charges were filed, and the incident was resolved without further action.

Police told People that Sandler reported concerns because he did not recognise the drone and wanted to ensure his family's privacy and safety.

The incident came shortly after Sandler made headlines for officiating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding at New York's Madison Square Garden. The actor, a longtime friend of both newlyweds, also reportedly performed a humorous yet heartfelt song during the ceremony, making him one of the evening's central figures.

Celebrity privacy has become an increasing concern in recent years, with drones frequently used by photographers to capture images of private homes and events. While drone flights are legal in many areas when conducted within federal regulations, property owners often report unfamiliar aircraft when they fear they may be infringing on their privacy.

Sandler, who owns a home on Nantucket, has long been known for spending summers on the Massachusetts island with his wife, Jackie Sandler, and their daughters. The actor has maintained a relatively low-profile personal life despite his status as one of Hollywood's biggest comedy stars.

The brief police investigation concluded that the drone operator had not violated any laws, bringing the matter to a swift end. Still, the episode highlights the heightened security concerns that often follow major celebrity events, particularly one as widely publicised as Swift and Kelce's wedding.
