Paramount+ unveils first trailer for 'Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender'

'Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender' arrives early as Paramount+ releases the film's first action-packed trailer

Paramount+ has officially moved up the release date for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, with the highly anticipated animated film now set to premiere globally on 25 July.

Alongside the announcement, the streaming platform released the first full trailer, offering fans an action-packed preview of the next chapter in the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender universe.

Originally scheduled for a theatrical release in October before shifting to a streaming debut, the film's release has now been accelerated following an online leak earlier this year. The movie is also expected to feature prominently at San Diego Comic-Con later this month.

The story follows Aang, voiced by Eric Nam, as he discovers an ancient power that could restore the nearly extinct Air Nomad culture. Joined by Katara, Sokka, Toph and Zuko, Aang embarks on a dangerous global journey to prevent the mysterious force from falling into the wrong hands and threatening the peace he fought to achieve.

The voice cast includes Dave Bautista as Tagah, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka, Steven Yeun as Zuko and Dionne Quan as Toph.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is based on the acclaimed animated franchise created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who also developed the story for the new film. The screenplay was written by Tim Hendrick and Christopher Yost, while Lauren Montgomery directs alongside Steve Ahn and William Mata.

The film marks the first major release from Avatar Studios, the animation division established by Nickelodeon in 2021 to expand the franchise. The studio is also developing Avatar: Seven Havens, a new animated series set after the events of The Legend of Korra, which is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

The newly released trailer showcases stunning animation, large-scale action sequences and a fresh adventure that continues Aang's legacy for a new generation of viewers.
