Tom Holland has revealed he is eager to bring Miles Morales into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying he hopes to help mentor the actor who eventually takes on the fan-favourite Spider-Man mantle.

Speaking to Hobby Consolas ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland said he is already thinking about the future of the franchise and wants Miles Morales to become part of the MCU.

"I think at this point in time, we're being really open-minded about what the future looks like. I know that I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe, however that works out. We've got a lot of work to do to bring that to life. But yeah, I feel really strongly about it," Holland said.

Miles Morales has become one of Marvel's most popular characters since his comic book debut, with his profile soaring thanks to Sony's acclaimed Spider-Verse animated films. Although the character has yet to appear in live-action, many fans have long expected him to eventually join the MCU.

Holland's comments have also fuelled speculation that he may be preparing to pass the torch. In a 2021 interview with GQ, the actor famously said, "If I'm playing Spider-Man after I'm 30, I've done something wrong." Now 30, Holland has previously suggested he wants to make room for a younger generation of heroes.

The actor also revealed he hopes to support the next Spider-Man in the same way Robert Downey Jr. helped him when he first joined Marvel Studios.

"I feel incredibly grateful for the way I was introduced into this world and that I was shepherded by Robert Downey Jr. I would love to kind of return that favour to the next generation of people that get the luxury of making these movies," Holland explained.

His remarks have sparked fresh speculation that Peter Parker could eventually become a mentor to Miles Morales on screen, mirroring their relationship in several comic book storylines. With Avengers: Secret Wars expected to reshape the MCU, many fans believe the film could provide the perfect opportunity to introduce Miles alongside other new heroes.

However, Holland's future as Spider-Man remains uncertain. While the actor has previously hinted that he may not want to play the web-slinger indefinitely, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is widely expected to be one of Marvel's biggest box office releases of the year, making it likely the studio will want him to continue in the role.

Whether Holland remains the MCU's Spider-Man for years to come or eventually hands over the mask, his latest comments make one thing clear: he hopes Miles Morales will one day swing into the franchise and become the next generation's friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
