Lauren Bennett, ‘Party Rock Anthem’ singer and G.R.L. member, dies at 37

Lauren Bennett, known for Party Rock Anthem and G.R.L., has died aged 37, leaving fans in mourning worldwide

Lauren Bennett, the British singer best known for her featured vocals on LMFAO’s global hit Party Rock Anthem and as a member of the girl group G.R.L., has died at the age of 37.

The news was confirmed by Bennett’s fellow G.R.L. members Natasha Slayton, Emmalyn Estrada and Paula van Oppen in a joint statement shared on Instagram. The trio paid tribute to their former bandmate, describing her as someone whose kindness, humour and spirit touched countless lives.

“Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us,” the statement read. “We will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories she gave us.” No cause of death has been announced.

Born in Meopham, Kent, England, Bennett began performing at a young age and later auditioned for The X Factor. Although she did not win the competition, the experience led to an audition for Paradiso Girls, a group created by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin. The group debuted in 2009 with Patron Tequila, featuring Eve and Lil Jon, before disbanding the following year.

Bennett later joined G.R.L., which gained international recognition with songs including Ugly Heart and Pitbull collaboration Wild Wild Love. The group released its self-titled EP in 2014 and enjoyed chart success in several countries.

Beyond her group projects, Bennett became widely recognised for her vocals on LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem, one of the biggest global hits of 2011.

After G.R.L. temporarily disbanded following the death of member Simone Battle in 2014, Bennett reunited with the group in 2016. The trio continued touring and confirmed plans for new music in 2021.

Fans and fellow musicians have since shared tributes online, remembering Bennett for her talent, warmth and lasting contributions to pop music.
