Mumford & Sons shock Hyde Park crowd with two major surprise guests
Mumford & Sons delighted fans with two surprise guest appearances during their headline performance at BST Hyde Park, welcoming Hozier and Shania Twain to the stage for memorable collaborations.
The British folk-rock band returned to headline BST Hyde Park for the first time in a decade, delivering a two-hour set packed with fan favourites and special moments. The concert featured performances of hits including I Will Wait, Little Lion Man and The Cave, while frontman Marcus Mumford reflected on the band's long-awaited return to London.
One of the evening's biggest highlights came when Irish singer-songwriter Hozier joined the band for performances of Rubber Band Man and Awake My Soul. The surprise appearance was met with enthusiastic applause from the Hyde Park audience, adding another standout moment to the festival performance.
Later in the set, Marcus Mumford teased another unexpected guest, telling the crowd he had a "cheeky surprise" before introducing Canadian country-pop star Shania Twain. Mumford described Twain as his "hero" and praised her for making the journey across London after completing her own performance at Harry Styles' concert at Wembley Stadium earlier that evening.
The pair first performed Here, a song originally recorded by Mumford with Chris Stapleton, before launching into Twain's iconic hit Man! I Feel Like a Woman!, with the crowd singing along throughout the performance.
During the show, Mumford also spoke about the band's connection to London, calling the city their home and reflecting on how many of their songs and personal relationships began there.
BST Hyde Park continues with additional headline performances, with Duran Duran scheduled to close the festival's latest weekend of live music.
