Harry Styles paid an emotional tribute to his former One Direction bandmates after making history with a record-breaking run of concerts at London's Wembley Stadium.

The singer completed a 12-night residency at the iconic venue, setting a new record for the most performances by a solo artist at Wembley in a single year. The achievement surpasses previous milestones set by artists including Coldplay and Taylor Swift.

At the end of his final show, Styles reflected on his journey from The X Factor to global superstardom, thanking the people who helped shape his career.

“I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for four friends of mine that were a massive part of this journey,” the Grammy winner said to the roar of the crowd. "I want to thank Niall, Louis, Zayn and my dear friend Liam, these nights, and everything that I learned in this time, the friendship, everything, none of this would be possible. I wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you so much," he said.`

The tribute carried particular emotional weight as it included Payne, who died in October 2024 at the age of 31. During the performance, Styles also displayed archival footage of One Direction's early days, prompting an emotional response from fans inside the stadium. Members of Payne's family, including his parents and sister Ruth, were reportedly in attendance.

Styles appeared visibly moved as he walked off stage following the concert, with videos shared online showing the singer wiping away tears after completing the historic residency.

The Wembley run forms part of Styles' Together, Together world tour and marks another milestone in his solo career, which has continued to flourish since One Direction went on indefinite hiatus in 2016. The band, formed on The X Factor in 2010, became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time before its members pursued solo careers.

Fans praised Styles' heartfelt speech across social media, with many calling his acknowledgement of all four bandmates, particularly Payne, a touching reminder of the group's enduring bond. The emotional finale capped off a landmark series of concerts that further cemented Styles' status as one of the world's biggest touring artists.
