Woman assaulted at DHA café, CCTV footage goes viral
A young woman was allegedly brutally attacked inside a café at Bukhari Commercial, DHA - with chilling CCTV footage of the assault now circulating widely on social media.
The victim, identified as Ghaida Fahd, has filed a formal application at the Darakhshan police station, demanding legal action against her attackers.
According to the complainant, she was at the café with a friend when four women and a man launched an unprovoked assault on her. During the attack, she sustained minor injuries, and her fingernail was ripped off. She further alleged that her throat was choked, and the suspects attempted to abduct her and even threatened to kill her.
"I want strict legal action against those involved in this heinous act. I deserve justice," the victim told police.
PS Darakhshan SHO Rashid Ali confirmed that the incident occurred on the night of July 1. The victim has been called to the police station and sent for a medical examination. An FIR will be registered on her behalf once the medical report is received, the SHO added.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim and the accused persons are known to each other, and the episode appears to stem from a personal dispute. Police are conducting further inquiries to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the case.
The emergence of the CCTV footage has intensified public outrage, with social media users demanding swift action against the perpetrators and raising concerns over women's safety in public spaces across the city.
